I go to "Google Sitemap Validator" and put the url of my sitemap index, select "Sitemap-index" option and click on "Validate". The response was "The Document is valid"

...but...

I try with the "Sitemap" option with de SAME sitemap-index and response ok too!!!

then... i try the opposite case...

I try validate a sitemap with sitemap option, and response was "The Document is valid", then try validate a sitemap with the option "Sitemap-index" and AGAIN "The Document is valid"....

...then, wiith my suspicions confirmed, only for fun, try validate the two options with my "Robots.txt" file AND "The Document is valid" AGAIN...


ALL IS VALID??? WTF!


I put my dog in front of the pc's monitor and validate too????

..I can not trust this

Hi,

You're right, any page would validate agains Sitemap and Index option.
> http://www.validome.org/google/validate ... eTyp=INDEX > OK!
> http://www.validome.org/google/validate ... yp=SITEMAP > OK!
